CEZ, a. s. engages in the generation, distribution, trade, and sale of electricity and heat in Western, Central, and Southeastern Europe. The company operates through four segments: Generation, Distribution, Sales, and Mining. It operates hydro, wind, solar, nuclear, coal, natural gas, biogas, and biomass power plants; and combined cycle gas turbine plant and small combined heat and power units. The company is also involved in the trade and sale of natural gas; mining of coal; quarrying and processing of construction aggregates and limestones; commodity trading business; and provision of energy services, as well as business consulting services. It also holds interest in the lithium ore mining project in Cínovec. In addition, the company focuses on the realization of photovoltaic power plants. The company deals with security systems (sound alarm) and acoustics for buildings. Additionally, it providescomprehensive services in the field of electrical installations. CEZ, a. s. was incorporated in 1992 and is headquartered in Prague, the Czech Republic.
